Reflection on All Eyes On My Morning Jacket and Incoming Interns

“All Eyes On My Morning Jacket” feat. the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra enlisted the help of the band and their fans to shoot footage of My Morning Jacket’s festival performance using digital cameras and cell phones from all angles.
My take on this video is that when people can see the differences they make and get credit for them, they are more than happy working for you. On the other hand, if people think their presence doesn’t make any difference, they would just wonder why they are even here.
Naturally for us, this applies to our fall round of intern recruitment.
5 months ago I started working at For Art’s Sake Media as an intern without having previous related working experiences. I was realistic enough to know where I stood and what I had to offer. Coming to work hearing people throwing around terms and stuff that made me wonder what they were, I knew I had to make a difference in myself before I can make a difference in the company. I did whatever responsibilities came to me and learned from everything, listened to people’s conversation, asked questions and read a bunch of stuff, trying to make myself more “web-savvy” and “in-the-know”. This is a good learning environment if you like entrepreneurship, Web 2.0, social media, Lil Wayne and Burning Man. The key is to be positive, proactive, and a little bit wild.
Good luck to the upcoming new blood.

I’ve worked with a lot of graphics people in my years on the web, not that I’m that old but it just seems to work out that way.
The best and the brightest I’ve worked with lately is, suprise suprise, For Art Sake Media’s own Greg Blake. His ambition, talent and drive have made our design process awesome– not to mention his pitchfork worthy music collection.
So here’s to you Gregory!

This Monday instead of going into the office I am on the golf course in Connecticut. It took this change of my usual Monday venue to appreachate the beauty found in everyday things.
Instead of the usual car horns and street music I hear from the office I have been spending the day talking to old friends and hearing the nature sounds around the golf.
Look for exciting changes at alpha.artcatchr.com this week as we push sponsered content from the Obama camp!
For Arts Sake Media

For Arts Sake Media was created for Artists and Art lovers alike to address two major problems within the world of Art today.
The first is the lack of a holistic view of all the disparate, Art-related information on the web. Only a few content providers who are recognized “authorities” in the Art world provide information to the critical mass and they don’t effectively represent many of the niche categories (like graffiti and glass blowing). Plus, trying to navigate through the slew of articles and blogs out there is mind boggling at best, and a lot of good information never gets read. But that’s all about to change.
The second problem is the limitation within the current structure of the Art market. Today there are vastly more artists creating unique and desirable work than there are consumers purchasing it. This imbalance is because of the limitations of viewing Art, not because of a lack of interest. Traditionally, only wealthy collectors and professionals with exclusive access could purchase pieces, but why shouldn’t art be accessible to everyone?
In creating For Arts Sake Media, we saw an opportunity to blend our passion for Art with our love of technology to address these issues and make the world of Art available to all. As more people have access to learn and experience Art, the more likely they are to purchase and participate in its community. Idealistic? Yes, achievable.
Still, without your contributions and community involvement, we are nothing. In our endeavor to bring you these products, we now know what it means to truly be a starving Artist. We have the utmost gratitude for your participation in our site. We look forward to your involvement and constant feedback.
We are here for you — For Arts Sake!
